About The Villa

Villa Penina Gardens is located around the Penina Golf course, near Alvor/Portimão, which is one of the most famous golf courses in the Algarve.

This is a very quiet and calm location allowing you to fully relax, take a walk or ride a bicycle.

The closest beach (Praia de Alvor) is only 4km from the villa. Many other beautiful beaches are within a radius of only 5-8km.

The small, picturesque and very welcoming village of Alvor (which is tradicionally a fisherman village) offers you a great atmosphere for both kids and adults.

There you have plenty of restaurants with a wide range of tasteful meals. Fresh fish and seafood is just one of the specialities you shouldn't miss.

If you are also looking for fun, for a drink and for any shops, you'll find handfulls of cafes, bars, shops and supermarkets.

Villa Penina Gardens presents itself as a really spacious villa, featuring 5 en-suites and 1 bedroom (6 in total), a heated swimming pool, another heated swimming pool for kids with integrated jacuzzi and another heated jacuzzi for adults embraced by a tropical garden.

Inside, you'll find that every single room is large and spacious and as for entertainment you'll find an elegant cinema room, a pool table, a tennis table and also bicycles for men, women and kids.

It also offers you a barbecue, an outdoor dinning area (which is covered and which can be fully closed with glass doors when needed) gardens and grass fields.

The front of the house and the outside dinning area is surrounded by the kids' swimming pool which also works as a water mirror.

Preferred changeover day: Friday (may be flexible depending on season/circumstances).

Incomplete week bookings (different than 7 or 14 days for instance): Not always possible. It depends on season and other circumstances. Please enquiry to check possibility.

Security deposit: A security deposit whose amount may vary is required to safeguard the event of any breakages or damage incurred during the stay.

(*) Prices up to 4 persons. For each person above 4 and up to 16, it is charged 165 €/week.

(**) The heating of the outdoor swimming pool is however not included for the months of November to March. An extra of € 290 per week is charged in those months if the heating of the swimming pool is wanted.

- The prices include water, electricity, garden and pools maintenance, linen and towels, pool towels, mid-week change of towels, weekly cleaning and outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi heating, except if otherwise mentioned.
- Children up to 2 years old inclusive are free (free of charge applies up to a maximum of 2 children).
- It is possible to add up to 4 extra beds, increasing the total capacity of the Villa up to 16 persons.

We had a great family experience here. 10 adults and 1 child. The villa is so well equipped. We all had the best sleeps in the comfortable beds. The electric blackout shutters meant we slept so well. The pool area is perfect. We spent most of the time round the pool. The location is great for an easy Uber to town (€4-6). If the church gate is open it’s even quicker! My only tiny point for improvement would be if the additional fridge in the laundry room could be super cold for the poolside drinks. Totally minor though. Great place would highly recommend.

It was a wonderful week with our family in this villa. Everything was perfectly cleaned when we arrived. The swimmingpool was warm, even on the colder days when we were there we could swim. The villa itself was also really nice, every room had its own bathroom. All thanks to our hostess Elena everything was good organised and our wishes where quickly fulfilled. She was really helpful and clear in her explanaition, we could connect her whenever we needed it.

Stunning villa

We had an amazing few days in this villa - the outside space especially is breathtaking. When we’ve stayed in villas before with “heated” pools they’ve still not been a comfortable temperature, but despite the rainy weather this pool was like bath water in March! This was a big plus for us as was the spacious hot tub. It also has so much inside entertainment and space for big families - the ping pong, football table and bikes are in a separate games room giving peace to those inside, the cinema room is so cool and the huge pool table was great entertainment for us all.

Aside from this beautiful villa, the team are fantastic. They let us check in early and check out late, doing their best to accommodate our flight times and maximising our stay time which made our holiday as the morning we should have checked out it was finally sunny! Miguel was there with any questions on email and Elena so helpful during our stay, only a WhatsApp away. I was nervous paying the deposit from the UK without knowing anything about the business but if you’re reading this, I can assure you this is a very professional company, my deposit has been returned quickly in full.

We will definitely be staying with Spring Villas again and recommending them to friends, an amazing stay we won’t forget!

Perfect villa with great outdoor area

The villa is really great. This was our second time here with two families. The villa is very large and spacious. We particularly like the outdoor area with the pool, which is always nice and warm and is also great to use in autumn. The children of course love the cinema and the newly built gym is also cool. All in all, a really fantastic villa. The service from Spring Villas is also very positive and efficient.

The only thing we are missing there is an outdoor lounge.

We stayed at Villa Penina Gardens for 2 weeks at the beginning of August 2023. The villa was superb and we all had a fantastic holiday here. The pool and outdoor area, including table tennis and hot tubs, were excellent and really well used by all in our party. Beds and rooms were very comfortable and the kitchen was excellently well stocked with everything we needed. Elena was very helpful and any issues (very minor!) were resolved straight away. Would highly recommend!

Very nice stay for 12 people!

We had a great stay at Villa Penina Gardens for ine week in August 2022. The greeting was quick and efficient, and the house had nearly everything we needed. The rooms are spacious, the beds are nice and comfy, and the Air Conditioning was very good to have in summer. The pool was nice and big, even for a party of 12 people. The jacuzzi was nice too, We set the temperature low to cool off from the Algarve summer heat. We loved the gardens around the house to enjoy the sun or have a drink in the shade of the palm trees. The kids loved the Cinema in the house! The kitchen was nice too, but the dishwasher and oven need to be repaired. All in all, a really great stay!

Gorgeous Family Villa!

The villa was amazing and comfortable for two families with small kids. The shallow pool was great for play and provided piece of mind for us parents. The larger pool was a hit with the bigger kids along with the hot tub. It was private, secure, clean and had every amenity you could ask for, including home theatre and playground set! Wonderful Staying at a wonderful Villa

We are a Motorsportteam who comes to the Algarve for testing at least once a year.

When we do so we are always staying with SpringVillas and one of their wonderful Villas. Especially Villa Penina Gardens!

Absolutely fabulous!

Ten of us have just returned from Penina Gardens and it was everything we hoped and more. We got a little lost on arrival as our Sat Nav wanted to take us to the wrong golf course but we were met by Elena who was very friendly and didn’t seem to mind at all having to come to collect us :)

During our week we had a couple of minor problems and Elena was very quick to respond and get them fixed.

As for the previous feedback on here about the beds, only two members of our party found them hard the other eight found them to be extremely comfortable. I guess it’s all a matter of what you are used to.

We would definitely stay here again and indeed would recommend Spring Villas to our friends.

The villa was wonderful

Villa had plenty of room it was clean and cozy and well appointed and the gardens and pool areas were a delight. I really loved everything about it except for the beds which were very hard and uncomfortable and of poor quality .I would love to return as everything else about the villa was superb ,if the beds were upgraded !!!

We did not have a car and there are no shops for groceries etc within walking distance but taxis are readily available.

We had to carry our golf clubs to the golf club as the golf club could not assist us with collection of our clubs even though 8 of us were playing in the resort and had dined in hotel on 2 occasions , which was disappointing

1. We understand the mattresses might be hard for some people (and soft for others certainly). That‘s a very personal taste/matter. However, the mattresses are not of poor quality. They are orthopedic hotel quality mattresses sourced in specialized hotel supplier factories. In any case, should you had let us know while staying with us and we‘d be glad to help you on this matter.

2. The Golf resort not being able to keep your golf clubs overnight is something that is not related to our villa or to our services at all. That‘s completely up to the Golf resort where you have been playing. Our villa and the golf resort are completely independent, although we have a partnership with the golf resort so we can provide additional benefits for our guests as you know (like reduced green free rates, discounts on their restaurants, etc).

Amazing Villa

Thanks to everyone at Spring Villas for all your help in arranging our family holiday 2018. We booked this is December 2016 and all the staff at Spring Villas where just so helpful and nice. When we arrived at the Villa it was just so beautiful we had the most relaxing week, we really should have booked for 2 weeks. The only negative aspect for us was that there was no shops within walking distance to get food / drink supplies, so it was taxis every time, but this wouldn't put me off the Villa as the taxi prices where very reasonable.. Thanks for everything, if we decide to come back to Portugal in 2020 we will definitely come back through your company to book another Luxury Villa.

Fabulous Villa

We took my mother to Villa Penina Gardens to celebrate her 85th birthday. It was perfect for our group of eleven. It was very modern, spacious, clean and secure. The pool area and outdoor dining area were great for our large group. We were greeted on arrival by Elena who showed us around. During our stay we had a problem with an AC Unit and it was repaired promptly within hours of emailing Miguel. We will definitely come back and will recommend Spring Villas to our family and friends.

Absolutely stunning villa with amazing gardens

The villa was absolutely beautiful and exactly how it looked on the pictures! It was so big and spacious and had everything we needed to enjoy a perfect weekend stay. It was clean and modern and had all the amenities. The pool and jacuzzi were fab and were warm (we went the end of February) and the gardens were stunning. Miguel was so helpful and showed us around upon arrival. He communicated with us beforehand and greeted us late at night which was lovely. He also provided us with places to eat and drink and taxi numbers so we could get around. It wasn't too far from small restaurants and bars, we paid around 14 euro in a taxi coming home. Overall we had the best experience and I would definitely recommend Spring Villas to anyone. We will look on returning in the future. :)

Wonderful villa with everything there for a superb holiday

The villa, very near to Alvor and its great beach was beautiful . The grounds the pools and all the facilities provided a great holiday for our family of 16 adults. We were greeted with a friendly tour of the property and found everything we needed. There is plenty of room and well equipped for fun and games and restful places too. It is only a short drive to the town where there are many restaurants and places to see the views. All in all I cannot fault anything about it so see for yourselves and enjoy it as much as we did!

Thank you very much for a perfect break in Portugal. The villa was exceptional- fully equipped, very clean and in a wonderful setting. The pool areas are fantastic and set in a very peaceful area which is only short distance from all local places of interest. Would defiantly stay here, or at Spring Villas other properties again. After a fraught traveling experience with 3 small children, it was so lovely to have such helpful people (Miguel and Amélia) on hand. They bent over backwards to ensure our stay was enjoyable. The villa is stunning, very clean and has every facility you can think of. Alvor is a ten minute car journey (a car is essential although taxis are easily found at the nearby golf resort). Alvor is a charming town, lots of good restaurants to eat in. We had an idyllic stay and will definitely return next year! Obrigado x

Beautiful, luxurious villa

When we looked at the pictures along with the excellent price we really thought it was too good to be true. But when we arrived we were actually amazed that it was even better than we expected.

The heated pool, jacuzzi, bbq and extra dining room were great. The rooms were beautifully decorated. I really could not fault it. Best villa I've ever stayed in.

Bikes, pool table and table tennis made sure you always had something to do.

The villa was a short taxi to the shopping centre and alvor too.

The owners were really friendly and helpful and even bought us a bottle of port and a lovely cake for my mum and dads anniversary. It was a nice touch.

We will definitely be going back again next year.

The villa Penina Garden was everything we hoped for and more. The villa had everything we needed for a perfect holiday. The villa and garden was very clean and the outdoor lighting added a touch of glamour as night fell.

The customer service was exemplary from booking through to departure.

The villa is also ideally located to explore the delights of the Algarve.

Villa Penina was the most amazing villa we have ever stayed in! The gardens, the oudoor area, the jacuzzi, the pool for kids, were an absolute joy.We enjoyed eating outside by the pool, , the outside lighting made it possible to spend hours outside in the evenings. Villa Penina Gardens is absolutely stunning. We spent a fabulous holidays here and were sad to leave. It had everything you could want for a perfect holiday.José and Miguel were friendly, helpful and made us so welcome. They are the best of hosts.They greeting us on arrival with a bottle of Porto Wine. The villa is stunning and we feel like home. The heated pools and “Jacuzzi”, is just gorgeous.
